Hi, I've rented out a place in the andheri east area close to MIDC. Any suggestions for which connection I should use? Im looking for an unlimited connection of about 1 mbps and with as little downtime as possible.there is a local ISP here who charges 1800 (which seems on the high side). He's offering me their Diwali plan which is about 3000 for 3 months. But because its a small operation I don't know if I should bother risking it. It's an ISP called SIPL.as far as the big operators go I understand it's MTNL or airtel, not sure which is offered here. I also see some threads about something called hayai who I've never heard of.

Hayai is a new operator who will hopefully change the dynamics of high speed retail internet access in India. They are tentatively launching around Jan 2010, and have shown promise as far as their pricing strategy [not the price per se, but the charging system] goes.

mtnl will be cheap. airtel costly. otherwise both are stable. Airtel may give better CC support but then MTNL hardly has any problem.

right, Im looking at 1 mbps unlimited I airtel is 1699 and mtnl is 1599. Ofcourse airtel also has this 1299 which is 512 during the day and 1mbps at night. Hmm

Avoid Tata Indicom. If it's available Airtel is probably the best option; otherwise MTNL. Also talk to the people who stay in your building especially for feedback on local ISP's.

hi, i'm based in Andheri East too & i'm in desperate need of a new ISP as my current one - HNS (256kbps unlimited @ Rs.600 p.m.) is pathetic. It hardly works when i need it the most, its downtime is more than uptime & unbelievably bad service.Nivyah said they'll charge about Rs.2500 to offer the connection. Now this seems a bit too much to me.Can some please offer good options in the above 512kbps range ?I am based just off Andheri East Station area, my main concern is reliability, i want something that is fast & most importantly reliable.I do have an MTNL Landline at home too so if someone has positive experiance with Triband then please let me know.:bowtoyou:Many Thanks - Vishal
