Guys,I have a UT300R2U router and the telephone line at my place is external, then goes through a splitter to a modemI am facing a strange situation off late.RANDOMLY, when i switch the modem ON, sometimes the link comes and sometimes it does not. After doing illogical things like 1. disconnecting the ADSL wire and reconnecting it, 2. switch ON and OFF the modem etc etcBut still the situtation persists randomly.I tried complaining to BSNL but since the issue is random, it wasnt reproducing when their person came to my placeHas anyone faced a similar situation. Please guide me through it-Sunit Bansal

log on to your modem check SNR margin both downstream and upstream. if there is fluctuation
1. check for any loose joints in the copper pair coming from the exchange.
2. if using cordless instrument remove the line and power cable
3. remove parallel connections before splitter if any
4. if not using ADSL splitter use it
try these things, still problem exists mail me at harsha.n.prabhu@gmail.com

May be "Splitter" problem. Try with another splitter. Or direct connect telephone line to modem without splitter.

Hi guys,Another Strange thing i notice is that the issue comes when there is no power cut.I have never faced this issue when there is a power cut and i try to connect to internet using the power form inverter batteriesI am assuming that the problem can be because of some problem in electricity wiringAny comments guys!

1. I could not understand point 1
2. ADSL2+ is the mod type and other valid options in the drop down menu are
a. ADSL
b. Multi.(ADSL)
c. G.DMT
d. T1.413
in my modem setting there is nothing to check/uncheck.

Post ipconfig /all data.

Boss there is no relation between the ADSL link and LAN/USB connectivity. If modem is not pinging check the cable, network adopter. if they are working check the modem.

Post ipconfig /all data.

I think the point you are making is this :Situation :Link to BSNL lost.ADSL page shows 0 all the way.Modem settings can be accessed.in command prompt : But you cannot ping 192.168.1.1 Take 1 :Open modem settings. In Management or maintenance look for the option . select itSave reboot. wait for two minutes. Try again. Wait ...............

As per your report, it shows that there is no adsl connectivity. for this you have to contact the local exchange and they have to rectify the issue.before that please ensure the following compulsorily use splitteravoid parallel phone before splitterif using any cordless instruments, disconnect the power and also the phone line to it and tryif yours is internal wiring check whether any power induction is thereStill not getting link contact your local exchange they will do the rest.
