Hey!I have a working internet connection (ADSL router - DSL-502T) on a Desktop PC running Windows XP. I want to also connect my new laptop to the internet. It has Ubuntu and Windows Vista on dual-bootHow do i go about doing this? Is there a binding MAC id for the router?Thank you,Vyder

is your modem already set to ppoe mode? i.e. your internet works as soon as you switch on your modem

then the major part of it is done..are you trying to connect wired or wirelessly? all you need to do is connect the router to your computer.. and it should work.. are you facing any problems?

in windows .. go to control panel->network connections..right click on Local Area Connection and click on properties , then go to tcp/ip properties.. and enter ip address manually..if D-Link ip is 192.168.1.1the enter computer ip as 192.168.1.10 (example)if dlink ip is 192.168.0.1then enter computer ip as 192.168.0.10 (example)and enter gateway ip address as your dlink's ip
