someone explain this airtel speed demo to me pls #airtel sucks

i came across this page on airtel website

Broadband Speed Check- Check Download Time on Airtel Broadband

according to this if we download 50 MB of a file @ 256 kbps it will take 200 minutes to do so........hmmm am I MISSING SOMETHING HERE OR WHAT ?

their speed demo has stumped me!

This seems just about right for me. Im downloading a 600MB file for over 6 hours now!

Strangely i get good speeds only when downloading from torrents or using a third-party software like IDM.

Direct downloads which don't make simultaneous connections give pathetic speeds.

And the worst thing is, I can't even explain any of this to them.

Btw, i have no idea how they can employ such people without any knowledge of bits and bytes. Looks like Airtel is finally catching up with BSNL and pulling the Indian broadband scene backwards at twice the speed
Even strangely let this "Speed demo" go live on the internet with so many people using it. I was right, Airtel is for aunties
