u heard right. let me check for that video...
It is totally wrong. 1080i (DTH HD) has 1036800 pixels per field and 2073600 per frame whereas 576P(PAL -DVD) has 589824 pixels per frame. I have almost 4 years first hand experience in HD. SUN HD video looks excellent even in my
Sony 52"
TV (KDL-52NX800) but an excellent DVD (576P) looks pathetic in comparison to that even after upscaling. Same DVD looks good in my 40" Sony signature series TV, so size matters! Believe me some of the DTH HD material shown looks better than some of the Bluray movies I have, eventhough it is 1080P due to bad source conversion. But Blurays like Dark Knight is outstanding example of 1080P conversion.
Please do not believe everything in print or online. It is just basics of HD video.
576p - 1024x576 - 589,824 pixels - 35.38 Million Pixels per second (MPS)
720p - 1280x720 - 921,600 pixels - 55.29 MPS
1080i - 1920x1080 - 2,073,600 pixels - 62.2 MPS
1080p - 1920x1080 - 2,073,600 pixels - 124.4 MPS
Again HDMI is a digital signal and component video is analog so there is no cable (without the necessary D/A conversion) which can be used for connecting both HDMI and Component video (RCA).
