I recently shifted from 500 Combo plan to 256 Kbps unlimited plan.
The previous plan offered me speeds as they say "Upto 2Mbps" i.e. around 210KBps maximum.

I was also getting such speeds for my unlimited plan for a few days till the mtnl guys limited my speed to 256Kbps i.e. around 27KBps maximum. So unhappy:icry:

I am getting speeds of around 20KBps on uTorrent...

1)Please suggest me some optimization tips for uTorrent

2) My router is in PPOE mode.Does it really increase the speed in Bridge mode?

3) Is the bridge mode safe?

4) Seeds are more important than peers, isn't it?

5) Does limiting my upload rates ( say 5KBps) increase my download rates??

6) How can i forward my ports on D-Link GLB - 502T router??

This is my current speed:

i think 27KBps is the best download speed you can get.

Even I am on 256 K UL on BSNL Broadband. And even I get 27kBps on torrents. Thats the max you can get on a 256k line with/without any tweaking in uTorrent. As for me, I have done no tweaks or so called "settings" on uTorrent and I am still receiving the speed I am supposed to.

If you set your upload speed to Max in utorrent then the download speed becomes too low. When downloading, limit the upload speed to 60-70% of the maximum upload speed that you get.

utorrent has internal settings where you can set up your connection speed and it would automatically put in the values for max upload speeds and no of connections to be made. i have found them to be pretty good.
