Since a week before,all the reliance internet users were experiencing wierd problems with some of the websites such as bwtorrents,desitorrents,link-removed and most important blogspot.com .The solution is to change the DNS(Domain Name System) address, which is number separated by dots and is a hierarchical naming system for computers, services, or any resource connected to the Internet or a private network.For example,Google Public DNS is a free, global Domain Name System (DNS) resolution service, that you can use as an alternative to your current DNS provider(RELIANCE). Configure your network settings to use the IP addresses 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 as your DNS servers.
alternatively you can also use the following DNS
208.67.222.222 & 208.67.220.220
Please follow steps as given below to configure your Reliance netconnect bb plus.
1.Disconnect your broadband using the reliance dialer.
2.Press Start--->Connect to
3.Select the Reliance connection and press right click button of your mouse.Then select properties.
4.Then select networking.
5.Select IPV4 and then click properties.
6.Then enter the DNS address as shown below.
7.Press ok button and then exit.
8.Repeat step 2. and click connect.
NOTE:--The above method is for windows vista only.For windows xp and 7, its almost similar except the step2.I don't have no idea about MAC.Please make a note that,if you directly connect through the dialer provided by Reliance, these changes will not take effect.So follow the step 2 to connect to the Internet.Check for the availability status of the websites not getting now through Reliance Internet services regularly and once the problem is over we can shift to dialing directly through Reliance dialer.I am not an IT expert.Mistakes if any please be corrected.
