Hi All, I have SmartAX MT882 modem (basic model provided by BSNL). Whenever there is a power cut the modem resets, looks like the switch over time from Main power supply to Inverter quite high for the modem to loose power. Can anybody suggest me the alternative to solve the problem? Are there any other modems available in the market that solve this problem? Thanks,-venkatesh

You need to use a good Online Uninterruptible Power Supply from company like APC. Perhaps try Su-Kam as well.

I have heard similar problem from people who use inverters or some cheap chinese UPS.

Question : Can we connect 12V DC to MT882 needing 12VAC
1.In SEARCH above type
"Mt882 power supply" without quotes.
You will get 10 links including my earlier post/s
Expenses less than Rs 50/=
2.You can connect direct from the 12V battery (DC supply ) after stepping it down to say 9VDC. using an IC 7809. (?)
to modem MT882
( Bsnl adaptor AC 220 V output 12V at 1AMP)
I have NOT tried this in my MT882
When 12V AC is applied it is rectified
and converted to say 9V or 12V DC. in the modem.
( for schematic diagram of MT882 I am still searching)
3. Some one has tried a variable 220AC to DC 3V to 12V ( cheap make for cordless phones ) and
12VDC tap was found suitable. for a short trial.
Important thing is Current rating.
No proper feedback so far.
