So yesterday, I tried connecting my desktop to the Jiofiber connection via WiFi and it connected without any problem. I decided to open Steam and download CS:GO and the peak speed I got was 154 kB/s. The download speed was idling around 120-150 kB/s. I thought it was a network problem so I did a speed test on a laptop and my phone and got very good speeds. When I did a network speed test on my desktop, I got a speed of around 200 kB/s (I get more speed than that on my cellular network lol). I cannot connect a ethernet cable either because the desktop and the routers are in different rooms. So, how do I fix this? I am thinking it's an OS issue (windows 10) but I can't be sure. Please help.

what kind of wireless component are you using on your desktop. considering most desktops do not come with wireless support out of the box.

Problem with your adapter. If you have a 150mbits adapter then it's the max speed your going to get. Please look on to buying gigabit speed ac adapter.

Yes, that could be the problem. I will try with a better adapter and see what speeds I can get.

Is the WiFi router 802.11ac capable and not very far away from your PC? If yes, you can get a PCI-E Wireless Card which will get you pretty decent speeds. It's a bit costly but maybe worth considering. Here's a listing on Aliexpress:

This supports 802.11ac and has Bluetooth 5.0 too. The listing says it doesn't support AMD systems, don't know why.

There are cheaper 802.11n cards too for as low as $10 which should also give you better speeds. E.g.:

LOL ofc u get more speed on your cellular network, it's got better radios! Ur like a silver in networking (CSGO reference). OS issue? Windows 10 can easily do 10Gbps like it's nothing. Those cheap wifi usb dongles you get are cheap for a reason, that's because they suck. Ethernet cable is still the best way. You can get 10-25m cat 5e or cat 6 cable for half the price or even cheaper than most ac wireless adapters you will need for the gigabit speeds. Even google fiber who provide a far better wireless router than jiofiber recommend CAT 5e wired networking.

It's a shame most Indian homes don't have wired networking, we always settle or adjust for less.
