sify has introduced new plans for NCR region ,and good news for sify users is that they are making all of there network wireless in a phased manner,even the last mile connectivity B/w CTO and customer will be provided through wi fi ,in select areas .Thanks to airtel,and bsnl the compitition is now heating up. i know buddy the plans are not that encouraging ,also i know these have been announced quiet sometime back ,but i cud not see them anywhere in the forum so i thought its better to post them in a new thread .Anyway only thing good about sify is they keep updating there plans ,just like trump in delhi though trump is the most hated mobile dsrervice in delhi ,the only good thing it does is that it keep reducing call rates ,and others follow it .But yes the real news is about the wi fi thing ,hope it improves there pathetic service.

actually, the thing i hate the most is...they think on the terms of "we'll provide what others are providing"...why can't they think on the terms of "we'll provide MORE than what others are providing"...are we all not looking/waiting for that???

I totally agree with you ,they introduced Wi fi only when airtel and bsnl had eaten up almost 50% of there connections in my region and that too in just about 2 weeks.Previously they were charging Rs 20000 as installation of Wi Fi in a particular building.

Yes its zero now,well actually its my Ex -CTO who paid my society ( an undisclosed amount)to let it continue and to install wi fi for its remaining customers .

well wi-fi connex between the CTO n consumer is encouraging news..CTO's infrastructure was always the biggest bottleneck..i wouldnt mind going back to sify if they can implement it quicky enuff

Sify has not officially announced anywhere about Wi fi stuff ,but they have already implimented this in my area (vaishali ,ghaziabad).Initially I thought this has been done by my Ex-CTO to face competition from airtel,bsnl but my CTO today confirmed this ,that its actually sify which was providing all CTOs with wi fi instruments and slowly this wired set up will go in all areas.The cost for the set up will be borne by the CTOs and the sify jointly.Now its on the respective CTOs to force sify to start this wi fi in there areas sooner than later.
