Bhushan Tiwari's client works, but locks up many a time without connecting 🙁 however, it still is the best client for linux yet ... as the official one is much worse. You can compile sify.c yourself using "gcc -o sifyconnect sify.c" if you have gcc installed.

Someone else compiling something is frowned upon in linux. Because when you compile something, you do it for your specific binary environment (kernel, binutils, gcc, instruction set of proc., and so on). If you run the resulting executable elsewhere you will find it either buggy/unstable, or it will outright refuse to run. Compiling yourself is the optimum solution.
