Siemens C2110 lan problem

I want to connect my pc with laptop which both have lan facility. I have a siemens C2110 modem with one USB and one ethernet port. How can i make use of the equipment(a Ethernet cable ) to connect my pc to laptop without any addtional purchase (Please make it fast i need to transfer large files within a short span of time)

you will have to connect the LAN wire directly from your pc to laptop. first make sure that it is a cross cable.in the tcp/ip settings of your pc assign an ip address say 192.168.0.1. put subnet mask as 255.255.255.0. default gateway should be 192.168.0.1.now in the tcp/ip setting on your laptop, assign an ip address of 192.168.0.2, subnet mask should be 255.255.255.0 and default gateway as 192.168.0.1.connect the 2 pc's through lan and you should be able to see the both pc's in network.
