I was trying to join some Usenet newsgroups but the problem is that they as for an NNTP server address. I am using a Airtel broadband and also have a BSNL Substitute. Can any one please tell me if Airtel or BSNL offer NNTP servers and if yes how to configure them? Or what the port and NNTP server address is.Also I would like to know the security issues here. It is said that use of IRC can lead to viruses getting downloaded to your system. Does that hold true for usage of NNTP as well? And are all Usenet groups safe to join? Thanks.
