hey guys, I've got an Asus Rt-N10+ running as my base router, I was using another router as a Repeater but due to slow speeds I got an Ethernet cable to make use of the 2nd(Asus Rt-N10E) router as Access Point, till now I've followed all the guides which included giving the AP a different IP and then disabling DHCP, so far I got nothing, the 2nd router becomes inaccessible after it applies those settings. Running 'ipconfig' also doesn't give me the default gateway to the 2nd router.

I have tried setting up an AP with both my Asus and a D-Link Dir 600m, so far no luck. Help will be appreciated .

PS: my base router is running ddwrt firmware.

ipconfig will NOT give you the address is the AP when connected to the 'Base router'.

Did you solve the problem?
If not, did you try this?
Base router:
Set IP address. eg. 192.168.1.1 Make sure DHCP is ON.
Set DHCP range eg. 192.168.1.2 to 192.168.1.50

AP:
Set IP address eg. 192.168.1.100, Turn OFF DHCP on AP. Then restart.
Connect LAN port of Base router to LAN port of AP.
