Samsung Star can't receive SMSes

Hi,My friend has this Samsung Star mobile and there is something wrong with recently. Despite keeping the inbox virtually empty he can no longer receive SMSes. The phone service is running normally and so are other features on this phone. Is there a need to upgrade some software component built into the device? Please help. Thanks
 
There is absolutely no issue with the phone. He might have messed up with some settings. Please check the service center number ad ensure that its correct. Check all message folders and empty them. If still the problem exists, try a master reset. Also try to use the sim card in another mobile, or another sim card in this mobile and find out whether messages can be received. Also you can call the CC and check what the issue is.By the by, the first thing to check is whether your SIM is active and has enough balance 🙂
