The hardware on the Galaxy Tab A includes displays with a resolution of
1024×768 pixels, a Cortex-A53 processor clocked at 1.2GHz (most likely a
Snapdragon 410), 4G connectivity, and 5-megapixel and 2-megapixel rear and front cameras. There’s also 16GB of expandable storage (up to 128GB), and a 4,200 mAh battery on the 8-inch model that should last for 10 hours. The 9.7-inch variant has two loudspeakers, though these will apparently not offer stereo sound. Everything is packed under bodies that are only 7.5 mm thick.
As can be seen in the pictures, the Galaxy Tab A
tablets also seem to run on the latest version of TouchWiz (based on
Android Lollipop), which Samsung says is less bloated and more optimized than previous versions. The 8-inch and 9.7-inch Tab A’s will go on sale in Russia next month; the 8-inch will be priced at around 16,990 – 18,990 rubles and 20,990 – 22,990 rubles for the Wi-Fi and LTE variants, while the 9.7-inch variants will cost around 20,990 – 22,990 rubles and 24,990 – 26,990 rubles for the Wi-Fi and LTE models.
