Inside the crazy-thin 8.7mm brushed aluminum chassis is a huge 4.8” HD Super AMOLED display made from Corning Gorilla Glass 2 (read: tough to break, but still light)and a rundown of killer specs: 1.5Ghz dual-core processor, 1GB of onboard RAM, and an 8MP autofocus rear camera and 1.9MP front-facing camera. You’ll have the choice of two storage capacities – 16GB or 32GB – and both models have a MicroSD slot for expanded storage. Backing all of this up is a massive 2300mAh battery to keep you rocking all day.

This is the Samsung ATIV S, the first of many amazing Windows Phone 8 devices coming this year

This one actually looks good. Any Android Samsung phone with a back as decent looking as this?

Looks nice 🙂

It looks like the other Samsung phones just the metallic thin design sets it apart 😕or I guess all the Samsung phones are inspired by iPhones to begin with.

Hmm I thought after the S3, Samsung was done making phones that looked just like an iPhone from the front.. I guess not... Anyway I have a feeling Samsung will have a hard time launching this phone with its present looks in the US... In India? Thats another story altogether 🙂...

man i really dislike the hardware button on samsung devices. i was at a mobile store yesterday and saw the s3 for the first time. i tried going to the home screen by clicking the middle button. and well. i tripped the phone's alarm system while trying to push it down enough for it to work.

Samsung ATIV S: Hands-on with Samsung's first Windows Phone 8 device (video) -- Engadget

At Microsoft's launch event for its new mobile OS, the phone's 4.8-inch AMOLED display certainly helps to make the most of those colorful tiles -- this time around a higher resolution (1,280 x 720) screen kept everything looking sharp. Aside from the screen, the hardware doesn't pack a unibody build, but it does offer the power user both a 2,3000mAh battery and the microSD slot -- a combination that's looking pretty rare among debut Windows Phone 8 devices.
