Making a mess of Hindi! It cant even translate "thank you" properly.

i have no idea why they are reinventing the wheel. of course google translate is a proprietary technology but at least it has reached a usable level of performance. here is the google translate version: मुझे पता नहीं क्यों वे पहिया बदलते रहे हैं. गूगल पाठ्यक्रम का अनुवाद एक मालिकाना प्रौद्योगिकी है, लेकिन कम से कम यह प्रदर्शन का एक प्रयोग करने योग्य स्तर पर पहुंच गया है.here is the IIT edition:मैं के पास एक नहीं विचार है क्यों वे पहिआ को फिर से खोज रहा है अवश्य गूग्ल अनुवाद करता है , ट्रेडमार्क युक्त प्रौद्योगिकी है किंतु सिर्फ यह प्रदर्शन का उसबल स्तर पहुँचा है. at least they are using unicode (!) and not some hindi font 😛

i can see another problem here.. Google hindi uses common words, Sampark hindi is too hi-fi hindi.

righto.

google has just added support for a bunch of new languages on their voice search platform. the company actually paid folks living in the regions speaking the dialects to use their supplied phones to speak their natural language for months for them to collect enough data. it is unbelievable how they work on such complicated stuff.
