S/w for ripping VCDs & encoding

Which is the best s/w for rippin movies off VCDs and then joinin em all and converting em to other more compact file formats??

VCD Cutter...can join and convert o avi...then you could use a Avi-to-Rm convertor...

Movie VCDs never cum in one CD!!! wat i was lukin for is a s/w that simply takes diff .DAT files as input and givs me one file!!!Hope the above s/w does that

nope! ....unless you have 2 drives...or you temporarily copy it to your HD! ...

Use Mplayer and Mencoder.(command line tools)
There are many GUI's available for the above tools both in windoze and linux.
Very efficient.

I use power Video converter as of now....
But its kinda slow...
