Router settings in Mumbai?

Hey.Does anyone know the router settings for mumbai?My DSL 502T died and its been 4 days noone from MTNL is coming and replacing it.I even went down to the exchange with it.And they said call 1504 and they wont do anything.Weren't too polite either.In short, Customer support is pathetic.As useless as it could be. :angry:So I'm going to buy a router myself (502T only but with newer firmware).If anyone knows what settings I should keep please tell.Thanks.

i know some settings pvc 0 vpi 0 vci 32 enabled pppoeppoc username-ur no pw 2101urno 1492bytes go to wan page and follow above settings

no, that's not all...main things are ur gateway and DNS...it won't work without those...

aah..gateway should be 192.168.1.1 i think?DNS I could put in any providers..i think lolIf only i had read that post of making a backup of config earlier

no, in the router it has to be MTNL's gateway...192.168.1.1 is for ur internal network...that is the IP of the router for internal network...

I tried the settings which shrithakar gave me and they work im online and speed is fine Many thanks to you both Edit: bought the DSL 502T..new firmware and all..MTNL guy has taken the old router and will get it replaced.will be handy since Im getting another DSL NU

well... if at all u may need the dns servers... 203.94.227.70 as primary... alternative.. 203.94.243.70

helppp!!guys i need some help desperately..these mtnl people dont do shit!i registered for the triband service last month, last week the guy came and dropped off a modem at my place.the modem was not even configured at all and the connection had not been made!today after a week, the dsl light finalyl started flickering in the router...but its only flickering, it cant seem to connect to the servers..can soemone tell me the exact settings for my router?what are the username and passowrd, vci, vpi, mru, mtu..etcam i supposed to enter a static ip or keep that ip setting as dynamic?also please tell me of any server addresses that i should know of..please help me guys, im upgrading to dsl from dial up and i really cant wait for it to start!thanks a lot!

in the atm put the service category as ubrusername = phno n password will be on the rouet or the dsl box...

i tried the ca number..no luck..there was a 4 digit number on the box, no other number anywhere....tried that..no luck....i even tried logging into register.mtnl.net.in with those passwords..but no luck....can i do 'forgot password' on the site? where does that send my password to..cause i dunno if i gave them an email address or not....this is really frustrating! mtnl really should improve!!!

dude... its a long 10 digit password.... it whud be either on the box or the router... has to be

the only thing on the box is that 4 digit number written with a marker...and a label with a serial number and barcode...on the router..again u have the sr. no with the barcode..and also a 12 digit alphanumeric number with a barcode...
