Reliance Wimax Broadband: info needed from existing wimax bangalore users..

i am considering going in for this(reliance wimax) or evdo(BSNL)...i need your valuable opinions.. i have heard a lot of complaints about reliance wimax..is it realy that bad... has the quality improved now?? how is the connectivity? speed?i stay in rajarajeshwari nagar..
 
i live near malleshwaram,the connection was getting disconnected very often when i took it but now its pretty stable, you will get constant download speed, the only thing i dont like is that the connection will get disconnected after 24hrs from u logging into reliance site,after every 24hrs you have to log in again.

Even BSNL logs you out every 24hours. :cool2:
 
airtel does not seem to have that issue.
 

bsnl diconnects every 24 hours, mtnl every 6 hours.24 hours diconnection is ok.btw doest reliance have a website for wimax? there is no informatin regarding wimax on their broadband site.
 
IMHO, Wimax is not that mature. I'm saying this coz, the Reliance guys came to my place(Sri Nagar, Bangalore) and said that it is not feasible in my locality.

So, if living in the heart of the city does not warrant a feasible connection, moving a mile to the north/south/east/west isn't going to make much difference, unless off course u r living in a super special location. Shall I call that Wimax lab condition.

Am I wrong somewhere? I am attaching the Wimax test logs. See that please.

Connection to host lost.
 
You should try calling them now,they will come running to your house to give connection. It just requires an antenna. Go for this connection only if no other ISP can reach your place. Reliance people can give connection almost anywhere now in bangalore.

Is that so friend? I too hoped to be a proud owner of that Square Shiny Dish enclosure. My heart broke🙂cry🙂 when they said that, Wimax is not feasible in my area. That 😢 soon turned into :madness: , coz I waited for around 15 days for these guys to arrive at my premises, and when they came this is their response. In these 15 days I could have applied for BSNL etc. It was sheer waste of time for me.

Well, I'm in JP Nagar 1st Phase, and the Reiance Wimax here seems stable enough. [Just got it today!] Speeds are NOT consistent - I've taken the 600kbps unlimited usage plan, and am seeing download rates of 60KBps+ only in occasional spikes. Average is about 45KBps right now.

So far, it's smooth and I'm going to be patient for a couple of weeks to see how it works out. Am tracking bandwith stats, so lets see.

Look, bottom line is, if you can't get Airtel or BSNL in your home, then Reliance is the next best thing.

I got a 600 kbps line about three months back, and have suffered ever since. I am in BTM, and as far as i know, i should get a decent signal there. But till today, i haven't got a decent speed at all. Speedtest shows me an average of 175-200 kbps... and the speeds were fluctuatiing a lot.. I have raised more than 15 different complaints and none of them resolved my problems. finally i got fed up and switched to tata indicomm (the only other provider in BTM) as airtel said they don't have a net work here, and bsnl, well the time delay. Got a 512 kbps connection two days back, and speeds are great... The customer care was even better... They had estimated a max of 7 days for installation, but on the third day i got call saying that they'll do it. even though i was not at home, they installed the antenna in the terrace, and came back later in the evening to give me a demo...so contrary to belief, i have had a good experience with tata, and a horrible time with reliance.
 
And one more things friends....

The Reliance guys who came for installation at my location used my poor little Airtel mobile to contact their office, say .... 7/8 times and I was left with Rs.4 balance. Such professionalism.

U would ask.. What were they doing with my mobile this much time? Well.. they were reading out their test logs to their office/control centre.(See my previous post in this thread where I have attached the test log).
