I do not mean to be rude; but is this your first internet connection in this country? Have you not used any other ISPs within India? As far as I know, no ISP in this country offers the correct amount of speeds as advertised by them. The promised speeds are applicable only to the local ISP node.

Guys have a look at the pings . These sure are high and the speeds in second pic is quite low . Almost 60% . Is some torrent client on while you are testing ? . please try closing them and then do a speed test again .

Yes. That is because the routing is all messed up. I get 300+ pings to speedtest servers located in Delhi. Imagine the rates when I start pinging international domains.Like I say in other threads, take reliance if you are on a mission to download every movie/game/software/occasional checking out of emails/chatting. For other purposes, stick with Airtel.

Good. But are these results consistent? I mean I too can produce such a test result if I sit and test my speeds all day long.

I tried the Kochi server right now and got https://www.speedtest.net/result/1955407101.png on the third time. The picture shows I am getting more speeds than Reliance advertises. (500kbps)

But see; I had to try three times to get the result. If I try more, I can produce speedtest results displaying 1.5Mbps downstream.

Hmm. Now that I think about it (after having my usual cup of coffee), https://broadbandforum.co/reliance-broadband/78495-reliance-speed-issue/#post629272 comment was indeed rude. My apologies. :)

Speedtest.net is an indicator of speed, but not necessarily a good representation of actual throughput, especially in India due to the way the Internet (as a whole) works here: unless your ISP talks directly to whichever ISP is hosting your selected speedtest.net server (in Delhi, that would be Vodafone, Hughes or Airtel) and they talk to that ISP *in Delhi itself* then speeds and pings will be ruined - basically, if Reliance talks to Vodafone in Mumbai but not in Delhi, then the traffic is going to either travel all the way to Mumbai then back to Delhi, or go via another ISP - which can seriously screw up the pings and affect the speed.

What would be a slightly better indicator would be what your normal download speed is from some large site (download something from Google, maybe) or try watching a Youtube video (360 resolution) then right clicking and selecting "show details", or going to YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.. Alternatively, try MyConnection Server Test and see how it goes (for some reason the ncr version isn't working for me right now, so even this might be a bit off). Or failing that, try with all Speedtest servers in Delhi and take an average.

FYI...i test my speeds only once and post the results here.
My day speed results https://www.speedtest.net/result/1955608330.png
I always keep a check on speed using DU Meter in my taskbar.
Using IDM i always get 75 kBps @ Day & 128 kBps @ Night.

a suggestion... never post screenshots of your torrent client showing the pirated content you are downloading/sharing on the web. it does not do any good to you or me.
