WiMAX LTE confusion is fine, the reporter might not know the latest developments.
But IPTV !!!
This was also said in the Forbes report that they are planning big into video with STB !!!. Either they have gone mad or really have too much exceptions from their 20mhz bandwidth.:miserable:
----------
How can they even think of relaying TV channels on that spectrum. How many will they provide 20-30 or 230? if they provide 20-30 then who the hell will buy those and if they provide in 100's then how the hell will they provide broadband services(leaving the fact that channel PQ will be pathetic due to low bitrates).:snicker:
It is just 110mbps worth of BW at last....:upset:
Technically you only need 5-6 Mbps to stream a 1081i HD channel because you are only streaming one channel at a time - practical bandwidths like 10-15 Mbps would be just enough
So it does not really matter if Reliance has 200 or even 1000 Channel offerings because technically you are watching/hence streaming only one channel at a time - hence the effective bandwidth used for IPTV should not exceed 5-6 Mbps, the same concept in which IPTV on wired connection works !
So Triple play services - Voice, Data & IPTV are all possible on LTE
+ if Infotel is set to pair up with RCOM(ADAG's Reliance IPTV) service which is already operational on Fiber, content is already available to be deployed. So a very viable option if Mukesh & Anil are to partner
