Reliance Digital TV DTH HD - Onkyo Receiver TX SR606

I am trying to connect Reliance HD STB through an Onkyo TX SR 606 receiver to my TV. I am able to connect properly if I am using an AV cable and AV output of the STB and receiver's input. When I am using a HDMI cable to connect the STB to receiver and then from receiver to TV, I am not getting any picture or audio. If I am connecting STB directly to TV using a HDMI cable, I am able to see picture and listen audio. Seems that Onkyo receiver is not able to recognize the signal from STB. Any solution?
 
HDMI will not give you 5.1 Dolby audio in Reliance, Airtel and Tata Sky. That does not mean that other gives.Even with coax Reliance HD DVR was not giving Dolby audio for Nat Geo HD and Discovery HD. Later I moved to Airtel HD. With Airtel HD STB connected using coax gives 5.1 Dolby in the HD channels that Airtel provides.
 
I am using Yamaha Receiver YHT 296 which works perfectly with Reliance HD DVR. Great 5.1 surround sound especially in Zee HD.
