^^ They are creating more hype by those paper articles. 🙂

Bravo, a new date!!We are gearing up to year end now... hope it launches before 2009 begins! (and before bharti and videocon launch)After all they are always behind from others when it comes to "launch" something in a market... These days they are doing just what others are already doing (nothing new and innovative what Mr. Dheerubhai Ambani has done in his life)

Already BIG tv people collected money for stock and the launch will be any where between july 1st and 15th
Good! Keep it up!!
You have made the thread active again!!!

Hi All,Launch date confirmed - In Jul/Aug/Sep/Oct/Nov/Dec - 2008.:yahoo:If missed then it will be in 2009/2010/.......:hysterical:

Guys,Lets learn to lose hopes! We waited enough and there is no value of those things which we dont get on a right time.😕

To make better use of waiting period, let me remind- does anybody have answer to my question in post #317?

I was wondering how exactly does, say, zee or star provide their signals to dish tv, Tata Sky, big tv and the likes? Do they have their own satellite link (or is it something else)? How good is audio/video there in the first place, because that would be "the best" quality that we can expect to experience at the most!

Reliance’s DTH venture Big TV may not launch anytime before August. The reason is that although the redundant site located at Bangalore is ready, till there is heavy rain, the service can’t be tested. When contacted, Rajesh Sawhney, president of Reliance Entertainment said, “No comments.” A source close to the development says, “The service has to be tested in heavy rain. One cannot simulate rain. It is likely that the launch will take place only in August 2008 by when heavy rains will hit the site.”The source further adds that once launched, Big TV may be offered through outright purchase, leasing as well as hire purchase options. It is also believed that in all probability, the company may offer DTH services free to some of the Dish TV and Tata Sky subscribers in order to develop its subscription base. If given free, the service charges would be Rs 200 per month. The company would be targeting 5 million subscribers in three years. As of now, the potential pay DTH market is about 12 million, of which Dish TV and Tata Sky have already acquired 3.5 million subscribers. Soon, four more players, Videocon, Reliance, Airtel and Sun will be in the market. With a total of twelve transponders on the mpeg4 format, Reliance’s Big TV will be able to show as many as 240 channels to its subscribers.According to the latest Ficci PwC report, DTH homes are projected to increase from 4 million in 2007 to 25 million by 2012, increasing their penetration from a 3 per cent of television homes in 2007 to 19 per cent in 2012.😕

big tv has only 8 transponders not 12 transponders

What difference does it make wether its 8 or 12, for us its equal to zero🙁 as, it is not getting officially launched, every month a new launch date comes out and people do time pass:wall:

So... now, instead of waiting for BIG TV, we should wait for rain in banglore!!! LOL:rofl:
