Reg antivirus in reliance broadband connection

I have reliance wimax 300 kbps unlimited plan.I have mcafee antivirus previously installed in my system.When i try to update my antivirus after getting this connection, i got limited or no connectivity.Later i solved this problem by seeing one of the thread in this forum. Now i am getting error saying that to reinstall the mcafee installation or software.I tried even the other version of mcafee.Even i have formatted my system and reinstalled my xp.I think there is a problem with reliance broadband connection....Tell me how to update my antivirus or tell tell me the other good antivirus softwares where i can frequently update it??
 
You can uninstall McAfee and use the free and good AVG AntiVirus available for download at AVG Free Advisor - Free antivirus and anti-spyware downloads

no no, dont reformat/reinstall again!you can try nod32 some people say its good although i havent bothered to try it. avg has worked well for me, it has occasionally alerted me to some infected files etc...
