what happens if atm dispenses damaged notes which happens regularly

they just want people to stop using cash 😒

yeah. i hate taking out cash from atms. just too much risk involved.
best is to use your own bank's atm during working hours.
and demand to get the damaged note replaced on the spot.

and of course. the whole mess with pen markings. not sure if rbi has issued any notification on the same. or whether banks are rejecting notes with pen markings. it is totally absurd that valid currency is looked at with suspicion these days.

i got 5-6 500rs notes with pen/pencil markings from atm and shopkeepers refused to accept them. And because these notes are of shit quality you cannot even erase pencil markings with eraser. Erased portions looks weirdly faded.

@Smh Try to deposit that notes in Cash Deposit machines. It might accept it.

yes. but banks at my place is always filled to the brim with people. so even waiting in line is minimum 20~30 mnis

these new notes are fucking nightmare. I got brand new completely untouched notes 200rs notes when I withdrew 1800rs and they looked like fake notes tbh. Cue next two days whenever I go to a shop to exchange them and got scared shopkeepers might reject them. but all of them accepted.
