Random downtime or faulty modem?

Hey guys
facing downtime/slow speeds again.. yday whole evening. plus today.. i intentionally closed my modem n laptop from today morning.. when i came back home 5pm.. turned back on..it started fine, then slow speeds.. fully down.. limited icon.. modem heating up badly just after 5minutes of turning it on
will you guys still rule out the fact that its not modem?? its 5-6months old.. it didn't use to heat up like this.. unless downtime makes it act like that.. pls any help would be appreciated.. if new modem will fix the issue, am down for buying it 🙁 help ladz
 
Borrow a modem from a friend and post stats from that.
 
Above 2 Mbps it is not trouble free on BSNL line.
 

hmm no downtime for a week.

But since last 2-3 days, been struggling to load pages.. youtube vids load slow. Though torrents full @120kBps.

any idea why this is happening?
 
Go through the new threads in BSNL forum. It's Sony and a lawsuit and a ruling by an ignorant judge.
