Rajesh HATHWAY DSL and Ubuntu 10.04 with Firefox Mozilla

Dear All,I have Rajesh HATHWAY DSL connection and it works fine in Vista operating system. But my most of time, i use Ubuntu 10.04 Linux operating system. But i am not able to connect to internet in Firefox mozilla in ubuntu 10.04. When i configured DSL in Network Manager of Ubuntu 10.04 and then connect, it establishes the connection and provides the IP, subnet mask, DNS etc. But i am not able to surf in mozilla, google chrome etc. Please provide the solution of linux system. If you have face the similar problem then post also.regards,
 
try it with always on connection.i am using ubuntu 10.04 with bsnl bb and it works like charm.
 
Some months ago, i had the intention of installing ubuntu on my pc. one of the hathways guys came at my house and then said me that ubuntu has some problems connecting with hathway, he was talking about something called PPPoE. He also advised me to try out some other version of linux, namely Redhat etc. Those linux flavours would work fine.
