I'm a very tricky situation,i'll break it up to make it understandable...1.I've been using BSNL Broadband from around 6 years and that is why i've got a very old model of modem (R.B.Comtec X7005Q).It is a DSL modem that requires user/password.2.It came with an installation CD that works only on Windows XP (not in Vista..not in 7). I've tried o search for its newer drivers but its not available at all.3.Now i'm thinking of switching to a Wifi modem but i'm afraid because of my outdated connection that won't work on my PC...any ideas on whether i'm right or wrong...its very urgent...!!

You modem is USB type and speed is slow 11Mbps data transfer
compared to 100Mbps for an ethernet port connection.
Now almost obsolete for connecting to ADSL broadband.
If interested in finding drivers for new OS, will try.
One advantage. Internet connection is not lost, if laptop is on Battery power.

Confirm how you access the Internet now.

ADSL modem with/without USB Port
Option (B)
a standalone wifi router + (A)
Option C)
a three in one model same as A+B
Option D:
3G wireless router + Option A ( for adsl BB connection )
