Query regarding Wi-fi modem on Hathway Broadband

I am using Hathway broadband, it only works on my computer, if i try plugging the wire into my laptop then it starts giving an error and have to reset everything with the help of CC so I'm planning to buy a wi-fi...Some queries I had...Does Wi-fi reduce the download and surfing speed of the connection...How much does a wi-fi modem cost...do I have to buy it directly from Hathway...Also can I use laptop, comp, mobile simultaneously...
