Problem Connecting with Sify Broadband - Need Help

Hi Guys, I am having a Sify 128kbps unlimited connection. My system is Windows Vista.The IP address assigned to my PC by sify is x.x.x.x. Usually when i connect the lan cable to my laptop and check using ipcofig i get the same IP ,But every now and then the IP gets chaged to some other IP y.y.y.y .Now when i go and check using the IP config my y.y.y.y Ip becomes the prefereed IP and x.x.x.x becomes the duplicate IP.But if i check in the Manage Network pane where we set the IP address ,there it will be showing the correct IP only ( x.x.x.x assigned by sify ) Can any one please tell me if this is my Lan card problem or Sify problem .How to resolve this issue

Welcome to Broadbandforum.in.I am also posting for the first time in Sify forum ! as there was no response to your posting. x.x.x.x is the gateway. Our IP's are dynamic and will change after every connection and reconnection.As long as you are connected to Internet, this should not be a problem.
