I am seeing that pppoe gets disconnected from BSNL side after 24 hours. Wanted to know whether its a local BNG settings/config or same for all the BNGs all over India.

Mine too... I'm in Pune Hadapsar area.

Disconnected as in you have to manually connect to the PPPoE connection again? That is unusual. The PPPoE disconnects and reconnects, usually done for changing the IP address of the network. Happens at midnight.

it reconnects automatically. And not at midnight, it disconnect the current session when it reaches 24 hours and initiate a new session.

Yeah it's expected behaviour with BSNL. It follows from the DSL era. They follow an outdated model of OSS/BSS and Billing. Forced resetting of a perfectly normal PPPoE connection just for the sake of tallying data usage.

On a side note, some Chinese ONT + routers drop the connection when BSNL resets the PPPoE and then don't reconnect for hours till you manually establish a new PPPoE session.
