I am currently using BSNL Home Combo unltd in Kolkata and extremely frustrated with the high latency. I play Warface on NA, EU and TR servers, and ever since they have implemented a ping restriction, I haven't been able to play PVP at all. BSNL's ping times vary way to much, probably because of using bad nodes as gateways and bad routing. The minimum latency I need on NA is <250ms and EU <200ms. Please tell me what ISP you are using and reply with the ping results to these:

ping com-us.wfw.warface.com

ping com-eu.wfw.warface.com

Edit:
Also post your tracert to these servers and use pastebin.com to share.

Here are my current routing details:

Thanks.

on bsnl bb...

~350ms for each of these server sites.

50ms for google, though...

Wow ijsa, that eu ping looks awesome! What ISP is that and where are you located? I wonder if it is available here. That would definitely allow me to play pvp in eu. But My NA account is the "main" one with all the goodies, so I'd still need a better ISP. And, btw, pls post the tracert to the eu server. Pinging google's dns is pointless, since their servers are locally used cached ones using anycast. They are NOT located overseas as you may think.

Moved today to Excitel..... Getting almost similar pings..... but this much more stable.....

I am in Krishna Nagar, Delhi.....

Tracert to the eu server....

Thanks. It looks like all these ISPs are using the same TATA nodes. Does Reliance use their own nodes? Would be interesting to see. Without better routing latency isn't going to be any better. Also, please use pastebin to share stuff like long lines of text (tracert, ping, codes etc).

Here is what I get for US:

Looks like BSNL is the worst choice in Kolkata. Today I was in my cousin's place and his ISP is AWESOME. He gets about 150ms for EU and 230ms for NA. I could play in both servers. It's called Meghbela/PMPL Broadband. If I can get that here then I will ditch the BSNL Dataone and only keep the phone for intercom etc. Will let you know when I know more.

Sadly, it seems like I have reached a dead end. I contacted the Meghbela local operator and he said that they can't provide service in my area which falls under a different cable operator. That local operator of mine is associated with Alliance broadband - another shitty latency crapo. There's nothing I can do to get a different ISP via cable operators. And BSNL's latency has been dancing around 400-500ms sometimes, in the last few days. WHAT DO I DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO? :banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:

Well, I have got the PMPL connection. It's better, no doubt, but I have had mixed experience with it so far. The operator has used some cheap CAT 5e cables - a thin one with no shield, and there are no switches close to me. Probably that's why I am getting about 15-20ms more than what I saw at his place. He has asked for a few days and promised to rectify it. Currently the NA ping is near 245-252ms and EU about 180-190. I can play fine in EU, so that's good. Unfortunately, my "main" account is the US one and I really want THAT to work. I did manage a few PVP sessions in NA yesterday, but got kicked for latency half the time.
------
Apparently I was too quick to jump the boat. It's the same story here at PMPL as well. The latency keeps going up and up and up. Sometimes I can't even play in eu because the latency gets too high and there are severe packet drops so I keep getting "hung" and disconnected from game. I wanna die 🙁

oh cmon man. you dont wanna die you are just frustrated like the rest of us who play online half the time we die because we have shitty pings.
