Port Forwarding

Hi,I am using Airtel broadband-256kbps with beetel 110BXI ADSL2 router.The average download speed (i use vuze as the torrent client) that i get is 25Kbps.I want to know if port forwarding will help in increasing the download speed and has anyone actually benefitted substantially through port forwarding?Also what is the general range of ports kept open in port forwarding for vuze?

torrent download speeds won't go up a lot.. the only benefit with port forwarding is that you are able to connect to peers, seeds and trackers faster.. so downloads go max speed sooner. For better download speeds use official torrents as they are guaranteed to get you beyond 30KB/s on your connection.

Thanks a lot....i recently started using torrents for downloads....i mostly download torrents from link-removed....is there any better site n what exactly official torrents mean....i thought the official torrents will be paid...
