Hi frnds i live in mira road,mumbai i am using reliance wimax 1.2 Mbps plan for Rs 2200 per month and i am not happy wth the service i am being provided i want to change my ISP but dont know any good providers in my area plz help me

Something is very wrong with the connection. Clearly the signal strength is ok because your upload speed is fine.

Make sure you have no downloads at all - no torrents, no nothing. Do you still get the same results? If possible, can you try it with another computer?

It could be the equipment they have given you - depending on if and how many others in your area suffer the same issues, it could also be their base station, but this is not as likely.

You definitely have cause for concern. They need to check the equipment and all wiring for any fault - corrosion, loose connection. Whatever. It's probably something ludicrously simple.
 
i got a call from reliance in the morning today saying that the problem can not be resolved as there is only 1 BTS (antenna) in ur area and there are to many ppl logd in to 1 BTS.The guy directly told me that i should get my connection disconnected because this problem wont be resolved soon does any1 here know which ISP is good for my area im livin in mira road, mumbai plz guys do reply

See, I knew that Indian ISPs nickel-and-dime everything... It shouldn't be that hard (nor expensive) to install another base station. Sigh 🙁

You'd probably be better off with anyone but Reliance if they're not going to fix the problem.

Your choices should at least include MTNL & Hathway, and there might be the chance that Tata, Airtel or Fivenet may also be present. We should be in your area when we finally begin service - but unfortunately that will not solve your problem as of today.

Quality of service varies heavily by area with any ISP - your local cablewala should have an idea at least of who goes in to your building and other residents in your building should be able to give you an idea of who is best... or at the minimum, "least worst".
