"Movies, Surfing, Video chat, Little gaming, MS office, RDP (for office work)" Does the marginal benchmark differences really matters for your requirement? "But the CPU benchmark for this laptop is 2600 versus 2900 for core i3 third genereation." Don't buy an overkill. Evn a dual core 2nd gen is enough for your requirement. But it's just my personal opinion ...

Dell still has a good service backup. I have dell, HP, lenovo. Dell is still under warranty. Dell charger short circuited n damaged, i got the replacement the nxt day. They came to my place in a service tempo (On site) n gave a new charger. HP is just perfect for rough\tough use. Good for frequent travelers. I nvr had a problem with my hp laptop. Bought it on 2008. It's a C2D laptop. Lenovo is my office's property, so limited use ... Lenovo n dell have i5 on it ...
