Please Help - Disconnection and Reactivation Queries

I have a Reliance Netconnect Broadband Plus connection. I would like to disconnect the service and resume it back after few months. I enquired from customer care and reliance world that I can disconnect the service and resume it back. But, they said that my data card would be in waste. They mean that there would be a fee for reactivation (which might be equal to buying a new card) and my data card might become old in future.I have EC1262 Black data card. Huawei model. 04/2010 manufactured. What do you suggest? Anyone disconnected before and reactivated? How much do they charge for reactivation?

ask if "safe custody" or temporary deactivation is available..

Disconnection means deactivation. I will loose my number and when I will reactivate..I have to get a new number. Does anyone know how much do they cost?
