Plan change in the middle of the month

I just called Railwire to ask about upgrading my plan. They say, since I already recharged for this month, I will have to either recharge with full amount for new plan or continue with my current recharge. I think it is stupid not to allow incremental recharge within the middle of a month. I now have a whole month to go before I could upgrade the plan. 🙁

I guess that's how it works mostly in all broadbands
which plan are you upgrading to?

Not in BSNL. They allow to upgrade in the middle of the month and charge on pro rata basis.

But in Bsnl you have to pay the full plan amount too right?

Only the balance plan amount. Here your current recharge is discarded and you have to recharge using full plan amount of new / desired plan.

Bsnl is postpaid and railwire is prepaid? Prepaid plans work this way only.'

I understand. But would have been nice if there was some work around to change plan in between.
