Panic button, GPS compulsory in all mobiles: But will it really help with safety?

based on this article... all phones sold after january 1 this year should feature a special button or have software to enable panic button through the power button.

I think some LG model has provided Panic button within power button.

The cheapo Sansui phone that I bought (Sansui Horizon 1) has it too. It's not a separate button though. You press power button three times to activate that. Iirc it dials 112.

that's the thing. as per the government regulations, all phones being sold today should feature it through a separate button or through the power button. but we are only reading about it on few budget models here and there. LG 6 and s8 should feature them too!
