Hey guys,

I have an Oracle F80 800GB SSD from 2013 that I want to sell. You can find the specs here: Source

But the basics is that it's a Flash Accelerator for stuff like SQL databases even though I've been using it as a gaming/machine learning drive since I bought it.

  • It uses eMLC which is rated for 3DWPD for 3 years but I've only written about 8.6TB to it.
  • The speeds are pretty much what you would expect from a first gen PCIe SSD.
  • It's plug and play in pretty much every OS.
  • You cannot boot from it.
Here are some screenshots for Disk info and speed.

It appears as 4 separate 200GB drives which I have used in Windows to make a stripped volume so I could use all the space at once. I have over provisioned the drives so I only get like 750GB.

I bought it for 1.5 lakhs but it's only worth like 17k now so that's what I'm asking for.

So I also have this listed on OLX but for 18k. Some dude contacted me and asked me if I could lower the price because the item was going for much cheaper on eBay.com.

Here's how I got to the 17k figure:

- The cheapest price you can get this for on eBay is 180USD.
- The cheapest/fastest shipping is via Aramex for 24USD (includes insurance) which will take 10-14 days.
180 + 24 = 204USD on which you will have to pay 21.63% customs according to Zauba: Customs Import Duty of pcie ssd in India | Zauba

That brings the total to approx 248USD when not including the fees you have to pay Aramex (or DHL etc) to do the customs bit for you. 248USD is 16.9k so I settled on 17k.

However, there's the added bonus of getting the item immediately. If you can find a cheaper way of getting the item into the country from that eBay listing let me know and I will consider adjusting the price.

I'm having quite a hard time offloading this actually. I thought the price for the speed and storage was a steal.

have you tried forums that are popular with hardware enthusiasts? techenclave i believe has a very active classifieds section?

I've posted in a lot of places (including OLX) but not techenclave. Thanks for the suggestion!

yup. check the classified section of other technology forums. i am not sure if there are any new ones popular with the crowd. techenclave i remember because there were folks who used to order products in bulk from china and other sources after getting preorders on the community saving everyone money. was recommended to me once by a reliable source to consider for a display.
