Opera Browser Updates

I'm still on 7.2 😕Any compelling reason to move towards 8 ?

7.2?i think IRC, RSS Support, Bittorrent, Security Patches, Other feature edition... 🙂

Hmm IRC i let mIRC do that, doubt Opera's versoin can handle crypted stuff.RSS is something i tried with Trillian some time back and found the updates very distracting, best compromise i found was Opera refreshing itself at regular intervals, i just tab to them when i have a break. Of course if you need to reply quickly (if u happen to be a board moderator) so as to track many posts then i agree RSS can be helpful.Don't use Bittorrent.Security patches..hmm now thats a valid reason...i guess i got lots of reading up to do on this one.

Opera has made available the next final (looks like it) release of their prime offering Opera Browser 8.02 on the FTP servers. The news is not official yet as the company is expected to issue a press statement tomorrow. One of the major changes in this release is that the final version comes without the Bittorrent support, which was present in the technical preview.

Hold it..you mean to say i CAN actually download stuff using torrents in opera ? cool . btw i installed it not 10 mins back 8.02 i think and uninstalled it in about 3 mins . i know you will get worked up but hey i cant stand those ad's and i rather avoid cracks and keygens as much as possible. free ware and open source . these will probably have the best answers sooner or later .

use the google ads. they are not taht distracting. if you have some popular websites of your own. you can run their banners on your site and if 250 people visit their site using your like, you get a legitimate license 🙂

Opera 8.10 Preview 2

Looks like Opera people are working hard at what they do best… release new updates to their excellent browser. Just yesterday, they released the final of the version 8.02 and today they were back with a preview release as Opera 8.10 Preview 2 is now available on their servers. This is basically a version of Opera with the Bittorrent support enabled which the company removed from the final version released yesterday.

There are also some other minor updates… most important of which is the fact that the company is inviting its users to check what problems they face with the browser IDing itself as Opera instead of the regular Internet Explorer setting. Many websites on the web use browser-sniffing techniques to develop web pages resulting in bad output in Opera. Opera fan base has long been asking for this setting to identify the browser as Opera on the web as Opera to get statistic programs to record hits from Opera browser properly.
