What I am saying is the MRP ... I am not saying that they should.. But we have seen before (atleast I noticed in Android phones) , that just based on the newer/variant OS, brands tend to charge a bit more atleast initially...
Nokia has dug their own grave by dropping the price of the 710 model significantly. they cannot really charge an initial premium for 610 simply because it is an inferior model. they did not keep buffer and as a result 610 would be priced around 10-11k. in the end, they have to target this particular segment to generate sales. this is where android is at its weakest point.
[h=2]Nokia to launch Lumia 610 in India for Rs. 11,000: Report[/h]If reports are to be believed, Nokia's latest Lumia 610 smartphone will arrive in India within next two months with a price tag of Rs. Rs 11,000. The Nokia Lumia 610 was unveiled at the recently held Mobile World Congress. The Lumia 610 is being touted as the first low-cost Windows Phone handset, sporting an 800MHz Snapdragon S1 processor, 256MB of RAM, and 8GB of built-in storage.
[h=1]Nokia Lumia 610 to get Wi-Fi hotspot functionality[/h]Unwired View has uncovered an interesting feature in the upcoming Nokia Lumia 610 and that is the ability to use the phone as a Wi-Fi hotspot.
At the Mobile World Congress held in Barcelona in February this year, Nokiaofficially raised the curtains on the Lumia 610, the fourth handset from their Lumia series. The specifications of this handset was released just before the official announcement and at the time it was believed that this budget level Windows Phone would come to India upon launch. However, as per an announcement by Nokia, the handset will make its way to a number of countries in Asia with India not being amongst the lucky few to receive this smartphone.
According to some news sources, it will be launched in India by mid May at MRP of 11K.In my opinion, if marketed and priced well (around 10K best buy), it will be a hit. There is a huge demand for entry level smartphones in 8-12K bucks and android sucks big time in this segment.
Ohh.. N9 and India (and rest half of world) is a sad story. But hardcore fans still have option to buy it online though on seller warranty only. My friend did same and he is happy about the phone. After using many phones of different OSs and then handling his N9 for just a couple of minutes, all I could say is F*** you Elop.
Offtopic : Techno did he purchased online? maniacstore was the one selling it, on ebay too. If he bought online then please give me the link too 🙂Thanks.
