european prices are always on the higher side. i expect these to be priced in the range of 1200-1500.

i think Nokia makes a lot and i mean a lot of budget phones in their indian manufacturing plant. this phone is largely targeted at the african market though india is a good candidate as well. in any case, i hope it arrives soon enough. i would love to buy it just for backup. i mean very few nokia budget phones have looked this nice!

i am probably getting the dual sim edition. have no need for it but might come handy someday?

duh. TRAI has ensured that SMS messages are obsolete from today. 🙂

I doubt it would. This phone don't even have USB connectivity (microSD card has to be externally connected to PC), so there is no chance of sms backup by application like Ovi Suite or PC Suite.
Yet this is good basic rough-tough phone. Good to have a backup phone with extra sim 🙂
