News of BSNL 14.6 mbps upgrade in kolkata???

Pan India 3G mobile service operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) is all set to launch IP-based next generation network 3G data service with 14 Mbps speed in Kolkata city in next few days.

According to Mr. A.K. Garg, PGM, Calcutta Telephones (BSNL Kolkata Circle) ” A Pan-India project to upgrade the BSNL 3G network has kicked off which is expected to be completed in a fortnight and Kolkata is likely to be the first BSNL circle in the country to experience the upgraded 3G network with 14 Mbps Speed.”
On present 3G network problems in Kolkata circle, Mr. Garg also said that “We were working on removing certain bottlenecks. We have succeeded in doing so. 3G services will only get better.”




BSNL which provides 3G services at lowest tariff compare to all other 3G service providers has more than 75,000 active 3G data customers in Kolkata and Rest of Bengal circles.







Who knows when it will be implemented.....

We in the South are elite members of the "BSNL 3G- 1 Mbps tagged and bagged Club".
Of late even though capped @1Mbps -browsing experience has improved with BSNL 3G unlike last 2 months and the ping to Mumbai/delhi server below 120 most of the time. US around 350.

even speeds like 100mbps or 1gbps wont be of no use when it dont have decent fup!!!!😛

what is the reasonable data plan FUP you want realistically ?
Right now :
BSNL Ipad only sim - Rs 999 U/L ?( say you may get more than 10 GB)
BSNL standard 3G data plan - Rs 1500-15GB
Airtel - Rs 2000 max bill (under Rs 625 flexi plan) -13 GB ( after that free snail browsing -GPRS)
Reliance, Docomo,Aircel 3G et al still selling 2-3 Gb for Rs 1000.
Forget 3G-
2G guys like Tata Photon,Reliance Netconnect & MTS (CDMA DATA) are selling 10GB @ Rs 1200 ( at an average speed of 0.5 to 1 Mbps) (except BSNL u/L EVDO @ Rs 750)
( new guys never paid any spectrum fee for "EVDO" 2G data services.only share profit may be)
2 G data guys should sell 10 GB @ only Rs 5-600! They are selling around Rs 1000!
Now close your eyes and make your "3G decent FUP wish" !
Just pulling your chain but presenting market info. Correct me if Iam wrong.
 
when they will complete the works in kerala espicially in trivandrum ?
