New Netbook needed-

My current budget laptop Acer Travelmate 5320 (15.6")is almost 4 years old. battery is almost dead.since this a foreign (Hong Kong)model not able to get spare battery in Hyderabad thro Acer service centre/distributors. works well as a desk top though.

Netbook: (battery should be atleast 3-4 hours right ? if not 5-8 hours! basically for browsing/stock charts)

Iam assuming I will able to instal Win7 starter edition (from my CD/DVD copy)or so using the
Transcend Slim Portable CD/DVD Writer (Black) Price:Rs. 1750
(usb connect to netbook?) ( also my current Laptop DVD rom drive is not too great,so a spare DVD portable drive @ rs 1750)

are you sure you would be able to work on a 10inch screen after using 15.6" for 4 years?

i bought a samsung netbook with 10 inch display... for me it is horrifying to use but then i use a 27" on my own desktop.

the thing is netbooks are cheap. but 10 inch displays are too small.

Sure 10" Net book looks small. I have never used than 14" before.
At home I have a 22" LCD attached to the 15" Acer notebook.
I travel a lot and spend some 10-15 days away from home in other cities.At that time Notebook only.
Netbook- basically cheap stand by Pc with longer battery time during extended power cuts + for long train journey .If I want to spend Rs 15000 I rather get dual core Atom+ 2Gb
HP Mini 110 Series 110-3730TU.
Asus 1011PX-BLK008W which is Singlecore Atom+1 GB ram so cheaper @ Rs 12340. can not go wrong. Netbook will be used mostly to run a Trading/charting software with 4-5 charts open+ running. There is no too much work for browser even.
This cheap option for netbook ( a long battery+ stand by notebook) Iam taking because ,I need to buy a Core I3 laptop for my daughter soon ( say around Rs 23-24k)
