My 220BX1 modem replaced with 110BX1. Suggestions please.

Hi,My modem stopped working today. The airtel guy came and replaced my shiny new 220BX1 with an old dirty 110BX1. On asking why, he said we replace with old modems & dont give new modems. Is this true or should i complain? The 110BX1 is working fine.
 
^ Really depends on the area and availability. In my case I was lucky my 110 was replaced a with a brand new 220.
 
I have also noticed that now Youtube videos, Last.fm songs etc streams pause & get stuck in the middle and then do not proceed further. Could it be due to this 110BX1?
