Murdoch's India Plans

"Mumbai: (5 Aug 08) Ruper Murdoch's Star Group Ltd. will invest $100 million (Rs. 420 crore) to launch six new television channels in Indiawithin the next 12 months.Star currently operates 17 channels in India, including some regional channels, catering to India's many different ethnic groups. The new channels being planned will all be regional channels."Can we assume that the channels will be from those languages in which star has no presence?

Indiantelevision.com had earlier reported that Star would be launching general entertainment channels in Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi and Telugu languages.
