Makes me wonder if they do have the word unlimited in their dictionary?
i donno wat's the problem in offering untld ? especially when they buy bandwidth on the basis of speed and not data transfer. VSNL should charge them per MB for the data transferred through their STM links, probably then they will get a taste of their own medicine.
The precedent's are there all over the world for them to look at and now even their immediate competitor, Airtel has started offering unltd - but it seems the babus r just not interested in opening their eyes.
Look at what the paper's are reporting --
In a major incentive for consumers, state-run MTNL on Thursday indicated lowering of broadband tariffs by 50 percent to Rs 199 per month from Rs 399, a move that may give private operators a run for their money.
Crappiest reporting i have ever read -- that 199/month connection would cost around Rs. 70,000/- month if used 24x7 and the same connection with Airtel costs merely Rs. 1000/- ...How much MTNL is making Airtel run for its money can be clearly seen...
