Mtnl Router/ Modem Vs DLink 502T

I have a strange experience I want to share with others. I have MTNL volume based connection 2mbps at my office as well as home. At office I have D-Link 502-T & MTNL wireless router Type IV at home(Secured-Mac address filter & WAP2 key enabled). DLink is not that stable*, has to be reset at least twice a day. MTNL router is smooth but not as good as (MTNL TKD wired) earlier model.

But with similar usage pattern, what I have noticed that DLink costs almost half the MB's. Could the unstable DLink router be a blessing in disguise or any other reason. Please comment.



*DLink CC says MTNL line may have a problem as upstream SNR Margin/ Line Attenuation are 0 sometimes. MTNL says router may have a problem as when checked the line with MTNL router, no problem whatsoever.

the amount of MB's downloaded are half as compared to MTNL modem.
 
that could be because of the frequent disconnections as I have experienced that if u get cut off sometimes they don't count the mb's being downloaded
